From this holiday villa in a pretty seaside village you can walk to the nearby sandy beach in a few minutes or to the village centre with tavernas, cafes etc. Sleeping up to 12 people it makes a great base for exploring mainland Greece.

The villa is located in Amaliapolis a charming traditional Greek village in an area which few foreign tourists have discovered. The villa sleeps 12 people and is subdivided into 3 simply furnished self-catering apartments, ideal for family holidays on the Greek mainland near Volos. 2 apartments are on the top floor and are about 42sq metres each in size. They have balconies and sea views and when combined provide accommodation for 8 people. There is another 2 bedroom apartment for 4 on the first floor also with lovely views.

Description of Interior

The accommodation is on the first and second floor of the villa. On the first floor is a fully airconditioned apartment with 2 bedrooms, large living/dining room and well equipped kitchen. You can also take your meals on the large balcony which leads out from the living room. On the second floor you will find 2 further apartments each with a bedroom and a living room which can be used as a bedroom if required. Each of these apartments has its own kitchen area so if you are an extended family or a group of friends you can prepare meals independantly if you wish. There are 2 bathrooms on the second floor and a 3rd bathroom on the first floor with a separate WC. Each bedroom has its own balcony. The bedrooms on the second floor have air-conditioning but the living -rooms on this floor are cooled by ceiling fans. From the 2nd floor you can see the sea in the distance and everywhere there are lovely views over the olive groves around the villa.
There is also a ground floor apartment which sleeps an additional 4 people which may be available for rent.
There is WiFi throughout the villa.

Garden and Exterior

The garden has both grass and flowerbeds as well as paved areas for barbecues etc. You will also find some swings for our younger visitors who may be lucky enough to see the wild tortoises who live in the garden.
There is parking for 3 cars on site.

Amaliapolis is a picturesque seaside village situated on a large bay in the Pagasitic Gulf on the east coast of mainland Greece, 53km south of the lively university city of Volos from where Jason and the Argonauts set sail. It is roughly midway between Athens and Thessaloniki and so well situated for exploring mainland Greece, including the monasteries of Meteora, classical Delphi and other archaeological sites in Magnesia and beyond. The village itself is surrounded by olive groves and framed by hills - ideal for a wonderfully relaxing Greek seaside holiday. Further inland lie the cotton growing plains of Thessaly. Across the Gulf lies the Pelion Peninsula with skiing in winter and beautiful beaches, mountain villages and spectacular scenery.
As well as the sandy village beach there are several good beaches within a 30 minute drive dotted around the west side of the Pagasitic Gulf. There are also delightful Greek mountain villages to explore with extensive forested areas for walking. You can also take a boat trip to the island of Skiathos with its famous sandy beaches from the nearby seaside village of Achillion. The area of Magnesia is rich in archaeological sites including Ancient Thebes, Prehistoric Dimini, Sesklo and Dimitras. Volos is a bustling small city with a wide range of shops, restaurants and ferry links to the nearby islands of Skiathos, Alonissos and Skopelos (where Mama Mia was filmed).
